Overview
In the interest of continuing conversations on the educational impact of simulations and games the "Simulations and Games for Higher Education CoMETS special interest group was formed in late 2006. Everyone is welcome! Our first topic is an investigation of Second Life. Future topics may include augmented reality, modifying commercial games, and flash based games for websites. If you are interested in discussing a particular subject of interest, please join the SIG via the listserv and e-mail us - we're sure you'll find some like-minded individuals who would like to hear about your interests!
The SIG started in December 2006 with orientation sessions on introducing University faculty and staff to Second Life and was followed by a panel discussion on various aspects of using Second Life in higher education and building in Second Life.

If you are interested in joining us, please add yourself to our listserv. If you'd like an individual intro to Second Life, we also have a few folks who are willing to come out and meet with you prior to the panel discussion - just ask! If you're interested in trying Second Life out on your own, check our list of online resources.
