Students - Registering your eInstruction Response Unit

Purchasing your eInstruction response unit is the first step to be able to give your instructor feedback in class. You must now register it so the unit will be connected to you and your class. The system used to do this is called CPSOnline. Use the instructions below to create a CPSOnline account and enroll your eInstruction response unit in your class.

 

Required Info

To register your unit, you will need the following information

  1. Web connection.
  2. Method of payment (credit/debit card, check or enrollment code purchased from the store you puchased yor unit at).
  3. Class codes for course(s) using eInstruction -- provided by instructor.
  4. Your netid. Your NetID is randomly generated from University records and typically includes some combination of your first, middle, and last name. Your NetID is not the same as your campus ID number.

Creating a CPSOnline Account

1. Go to CPSOnline site.  
2. Enter the serial number from the unit in the Serial Number box. The serial number can be found by turning the unit on with the new white units, or printed on the back with the old CPS rf units. CPSOnline Student - Entering Serial Number
3. Click Create Your Account.  
4. Create a CPSOnline account and password and fill in contact information.

5. Click Submit.  
6. Click YES to enroll in a class if you have the class code from your instructor. Then skip to step 3 in "Enrolling in a CPSOnline Class" below.

If you do not have your class code, click NO. Get the instructor code, and return to "Enrolling in CPSOnline Class" below.

Enrolling in a CPSOnline Class

Once you have created an account in CPSOnline, you can enroll in your CPSOnline classes. If you have instructors who use CPSOnline, you will need to enroll in their class using your CPSOnline account, in order to be included in their class roster. Follow the steps below to enroll in a CPSOnline class:

1. Log on to your CPSOnline account from the eInstruction website. If you still need to create an account, please follow the instructions above.
2. Once you have logged in Click Enroll in a Class from the main menu. CPSOnline Student Account Information
3. Enter the Class Key provided to you by the instructor. If you don't have a class key, you will need to get it from the instructor and return to the site to register later.

*NOTE* Be sure to enter your netid in the Student ID field. Your NetID is randomly generated from University records and typically includes some combination of your first, middle, and last name. Your NetID is not the same as your campus ID number.

"1431231234" would *not* be an example netid. "ajohnson" *would* be an example netid.

4. Click Next.  
5. Choose payment option.  
6. Click Continue.  
7. Fill in billing information  
8. Click Continue.  
9. Click Log Out when done adding classes.
